When I first started to listen to “Traveling Man” (the first track on a wALK tHROUGH tHE nIGHT) I thought “Oh
no, I have to review another electronica band. But that was before I actually sat down and listened to it.
When I did that, I thought ‘Hey, this is pretty damn good’.
That was when I noticed I was bobbing my head up and down.
Since I received access to this CD, I have not stopped listening to it. In fact, it’s on current loop in my media
player right now (I think this makes two hundred and fifteen… maybe.) And although I have listened to this CD a whole
lot, I’m showing no signs of stopping anytime soon.
This CD is excellent.
My favorite song on a walk through the night has to be Heal (track 10).. It’s very melodic and very cool. Overall
the CD is beautifully written and mastered.
Now there were some weak points in the CD. Some of the vocalization (particularly that of Traveling Man) was weak and some
of the introductions to the songs were a little long. The vocals were matched with excellent music though, and the introduction
thing is just my opinion. I’m not really a long intro person, but that’s just me.
Overall, the whole CD ran rampant with the sounds of Depeche Mode (not Personal Jesus, think Blue Monday). I’m not
sure if that was intentional, but either way it sounded really good.
Altogether, for the entire CD, out of five stars, I give it four stars. The lyrics were catchy, the songs were beautifully
written and I have Heal stuck in my head. The only reason I took off one star was because I thought the lyrics were a little
weak and the intros were a little long.
